Se i cinque volumi precedenti non fossero abbastanza, Reckless Hearts non fa altro che confermarmi che Jagger Cole è uno dei miei autori preferiti in materia di libri dark romance.

Anche in questo caso abbiamo davanti un bel enemies-to-lovers, dark mafia e anti-hero, con l’aggiunta di tropi grumpy x sunshine e morally grey hero.

 

In questo libro andremo a conoscere più vicino Deimos, figlio maggiore della famiglia Drakos. Lui è decisamente il più misterioso di tutti e non lo abbiamo potuto conoscere molto, dato che fino al volume precedente, il nostro bel tenebroso viveva a Londra per gestire gli affari di famiglia là.

Oltre a lui troveremo Dahlia, amica di Callie e altrettanto misteriosamente connessa a Deimos, ma non in senso positivo.

 

La bellezza in questo libro risiede principalmente nei nostri due amati protagonisti. Deimos è da considerare uno dei personaggi più tormentati di questa saga, con un presente già piuttosto grigio, ma con un passato decisamente turbolento e pieno di sofferenza. Nonostante cerchi continuamente di scappare dai fantasmi del passato e dai suoi demoni, niente sembra donargli un attimo di pace, ma quando incontrerà nuovamente Dahlia cambia tutto. E lei non è una ragazza qualsiasi, lei è colei che lui aveva promesso di distruggere se solo l’avesse rivista. Ma può una nemesi trasformarsi nell’unico barlume di felicità e luce?

 

In questo libro avremo modo di conoscerli a fondo, andando a ripercorrere le loro vite, imparando a condividere gioie e, soprattutto, dolori con loro, entrando all’interno della loro mente e della loro psiche. Così da capire il come e il perché delle loro scelte e delle loro azioni. E ragazzi miei, il loro legame è qualcosa di sorprendente, ho letteralmente amato ogni secondo che loro due hanno condiviso e ho amato vedere come il loro rapporto è cresciuto e maturato.

 

Ovviamente, come ogni libro di Jagger che si rispetti, è costellato da una continua suspense, sia più d’azione sia più a carattere emozionale e psicologico, tra intrighi, inganni e misteri, oltre a momenti di passione e di famiglia.

 

C’è solo una grande pecca: questo libro segna la fine di questa saga, di questa meravigliosa avventura, e io non sono pronta a lasciare andare i personaggi che ho tanto amato. 😭

If the previous five volumes weren't enough, Reckless Hearts just confirms to me that Jagger Cole is one of my favorite authors when it comes to dark romance books.

Also, in this case we have a nice enemies-to-lovers, dark mafia and anti-hero, with the addition of grumpy x sunshine and morally grey hero’s tropes.

 

In this book we will get to know Deimos, the eldest son of the Drakos family, more closely. He is definitely the most mysterious of all and we haven't been able to get to know him much, since until the previous volume, our handsome dark man lived in London to manage the family business there.

In addition to him, we will find Dahlia, Callie's friend and equally mysteriously connected to Deimos, but not in a positive sense.

 

The beauty in this book lies primarily in our two beloved main characters. Deimos is to be considered one of the most tormented in this saga, with an already rather gray present, but with a decidedly turbulent past full of suffering. Although he continually tries to escape from the ghosts of the past and his demons, nothing seems to give him a moment of peace, but when he meets Dahlia again he changes everything. And she's not just any girl, she's the one he promised to destroy if he only saw her again. But can a nemesis transform into the only glimmer of happiness and light?

 

In this book we will have the opportunity to get to know them in depth, retracing their lives, learning to share joys and, above all, pains with them, entering inside their minds and their psyche. So as to understand the how and why of their choices and actions. And my guys, their bond is something amazing, I literally loved every second the two of them shared and I loved seeing how their relationship grew and matured.

 

Obviously, like any self-respecting Jagger book, it is dotted with continuous suspense, both more action and more emotional and psychological, between intrigue, deception and mysteries, as well as moments of passion and family.

 

There is only one big flaw: this book marks the end of this saga, of this wonderful adventure, and I am not ready to let go of the characters I loved so much. 😭
