Ebbene, il libro di cui voglio parlarvi oggi ha a che fare con il mondo cavalleresco arturiano, pur trovandoci all’interno di un panorama paranormal romance dove la magia fa da padrone. E vogliamo parlare dei trope? Si? Bene, perchรฉ sono enemies-to-lovers, band of brothers, cursed hero e fated mates.

In questa nuova edizione rivista e aggiornata del libro, troviamo una moderna rivisitazione del ciclo di Re Artรน nei panni di Marrok, maledetto da Morgana la bellezza di un millennio e mezzo prima e la sua unica possibilitร รจ il Libro di Doomsday. Olivia incrocerร il cammino di Marrok nella sua ricerca del padre e subito entrambi sentiranno una connessione. Il problema รจ che una non sa spiegarsela e l’altro vede in lei la sua antica nemica. Cosa succederร ?
Da quel momento inizierร la loro storia insieme. Dapprima segnata da un odio o un’antipatia reciproca, poi avranno modo di conoscersi meglio, approfondire quella strana connessione e aprirsi di piรน all’altro. Il loro percorso รจ punteggiato da minacce inaspettate, una relazione scoppiettante, tanta tensione (in tutti i sensi!), azione e suspense. Insomma, i nostri protagonisti hanno da lavorare su se stessi, cercando di scoprire di piรน su di sรฉ e sull’altro, cercando allo stesso tempo di fare i conti con il destino e con un mondo molto piรน complesso di quello che si potesse pensare, tutto mentre devono trovare un nome al rapporto che sta sbocciando tra di loro.
A fare da contorno troviamo molta magia, streghe e stregoni, e alcuni personaggi secondari da non sottovalutare (e sono certa che vi innamorerete di alcuni di loro!). La trama scorre bene, grazie alle scene piรน d’azione intervallate a quelle con carattere piรน sensuale. La scrittura non risulta pesante ma anzi, comprensibile e fresca. La cosa migliore รจ che leggendo non si riusciva a prevedere subito quello che sarebbe successo, e quindi rende l’esperienza piรน accattivante e coinvolgente.

And do we want to talk about tropes? Yes? Well, good, because they are enemies-to-lovers, band of brothers, cursed heroes and fated mates.

In this new revised and updated edition of the book, we find a modern retelling of the KingA rthur cycle in Marrok, cursed by Morgana the beauty of a millennium and a half before and the only possibility of him is the Book of Doomsday. Olivia will cross paths with Marrok in his search for her father and they will both immediately feel a connection. The problem is that one of her cannot explain it and the other sees in her her ancient enemy. What will happen?
From that moment their story together will begin. At first marked by mutual hatred or antipathy, then they will have the opportunity to get to know each other better, deepen that strange connection and open up more to the other. Their journey is punctuated by unexpected threats, a crackling relationship, lots of tension (in every sense!), action and suspense. In short, our protagonists have to work on themselves, trying to discover more about themselves and others, while at the same time trying to deal with destiny and a world that is much more complex than one might think, all while having to find a name for the relationship that is blossoming between them.
Around it we find a lot of magic, witches and wizards, and some secondary characters not to be underestimated (and I'm sure you'll fall in love with some of them!). The plot flows well, thanks to the more action scenes interspersed with those of a more sensual nature. The writing is not heavy but rather understandable and fresh. The best thing is that by reading you couldn't immediately predict what would happen, and therefore it makes the experience more captivating and engaging.
