📚 RECENSIONE

📚 REVIEW

For me, J Rose has become one of those authors whose books you can pick up with total confidence—a writer who never disappoints. And this book is certainly no exception!

In “Sanctuary of Lies”, we are immersed in a story centered on the protagonist's complicated past and her journey toward physical and emotional healing—a story where family isn't necessarily defined by blood, but by choice. After all, DNA alone doesn't define the concept; true family means being there for the people we care about when they need us, and supporting those who rely on our presence.

Everleigh is the classic example of a woman who wanted to believe in love but found herself living a nightmare. Now, she has decided to take back control of her life and flee, eventually landing in a remote small town where no one knows her and she can finally breathe again. It is here that she meets Sterling, Leo, and Fletcher—three men who are as distinct as they are intense, each carrying the weight of a heavy past. They are all immediately drawn to Everleigh, unable to ignore the bond forming between them. Each man wants to keep her close and protect her in his own way, but the past can be a relentless beast, chasing you down until it catches you. Will the three of them manage to keep her safe from danger? Or will her ex-husband return to sink his claws into her soul?

Yet, perhaps it is precisely this looming threat that leads the four of them toward the light and onto a shared journey, united by the desire to protect her. These are the moments that bring people together in the most profound and absolute way possible. Moreover, each of them possesses a gift—something special that contributes to the group's healing and balance: one through optimism, another through understanding silence, and a third by acting as an emotional and physical anchor. Yet, while the three men strive to protect her, she is the connecting thread among them all; she is the missing piece in their journey toward ultimate healing—the soul of the group who unites them for good, breaking down years of pain, walls, and facades, and navigating the complexities of vulnerability and fragile emotions.

Ultimately, this is one of those "why choose" dark romances that takes us on a painful yet deeply relevant and realistic journey. It is a work of fiction, certainly, but one that could easily be drawn from real life—the story of a sister, a friend, an acquaintance, or a colleague. It teaches us to hold onto hope and find the strength not to give up, reminding us that we are women, and we are strong just as we are.
