It's incredible to have already reached the fifth volume of this mafia romance saga! But Jagger Cole never disappoints and “Stolen Hearts” is yet another successful work born from his pen!

This book has all the rules to make every self-respecting dark romance reader fall in love, having some very interesting tropes, such as age-gap, forced-proximity, marriage-of-convenience and a nice protective MMC.

 

For those who aren't familiar with it, this saga is made up of standalone volumes, although I strongly suggest reading the books in chronological order to better enjoy all the events and background. In this round it is the turn of the story of the young Callie, youngest daughter of the Greek Drakos family, and Castle, number two of Cillian, head of the Irish Kildare family.

As we already knew, Callie was promised in marriage by her now deceased father to the head of an Italian mafia family on her twenty-first birthday. And, it is in an attempt to prevent this from happening, that Callie ends up marrying Castle, a man closed in on himself but who gives everything he can in an attempt to defend the people he cares about.

 

For Callie this will be a blessing and a curse at the same time. Well, yes, she has been secretly in love with him for some time now but she cannot and must not cross certain boundaries for her own good and that of her family. Although she will soon learn that if it was already difficult before, now having Castle next to her will be even more difficult.

 

In this book we learn the value of family, be it blood or chosen, the excruciating sensation of unrequited love, the heavy load to carry on one's shoulders when one is the only survivor of a catastrophe or when one is the victim of a harmful family... these and many other themes are addressed in these pages, alternating everything with the classic suspense, adrenaline and passion of this genre!

È incredibile essere già arrivati al quinto volume di questa saga mafia romance! Ma Jagger Cole non delude mai e Stolen Hearts è l’ennesimo lavoro ben riuscito nato dalla sua penna!

Questo libro ha tutte le carte in regole per far innamorare ogni lettrice di dark romance che si rispetti, avendo alcuni interessantissimi tropi, come age-gap, forced-proximity, marriage-of-convenience e un bel protective MMC.

 

Per chi non la conoscesse, questa saga è composta da volumi autoconclusivi, anche se suggerisco fortemente di leggere i libri in ordine cronologico per meglio gustare tutte le vicende e i retroscena. A questo giro è il turno della storia della giovane Callie, figlia minore della famiglia greca Drakos, e Castle, numero due di Cillian, capo della famiglia irlandese Kildare.

Come già si sapeva, Callie è stata promessa in sposa dal suo ormai defunto padre al capo di una famiglia mafi0sa italiana al compimento del suo ventunesimo compleanno. Ed è nel tentativo di evitare che questo avvenga che Callie finisce con lo sposare proprio Castle, uomo chiuso in se stesso ma che dà tutto ciò che può nel tentativo di difendere le persone a cui tiene.

 

Per Callie questa sarà una benedizione e allo stesso tempo una maledizione. Ebbene si, lei ne è segretamente innamorata da tempo ma non può e non deve superare certi confini per il bene suo e della sua famiglia, ma presto imparerà che se già prima era difficile, ora avendo Castle accanto a sé sarà ancora più difficile.

 

In questo libro impariamo il valore della famiglia, sia essa di sangue o quella scelta, la sensazione lancinante di un amore non corrisposto, il carico pesante da portarsi sulle spalle quando si è gli unici superstiti di una catastrofe o quando si è la vittima di una famiglia nociva… questi e tanti altri temi vengono affrontati in queste pagine, alternando il tutto con la suspense, l’adrenalina e la passione classici di questo genere!
